Late filling fees Demand by gst office

In 2020-21 (Corona Periods), we filed GSTR 3B after 45 days (more than stipulated time given), on next month only 4 days late fines auto-populated(Rs.200),
Now we got letter from Superintendent office gst, they demand late fines for 41 days more .
My question is, is they can demand more fines after auto-populated fines paid.

Yes, the GST authorities can demand additional late fees if they believe that the payment of late fees was insufficient or calculated incorrectly. If the system did not automatically apply the correct late fees based on the actual delay (beyond the 4 days), they may issue a demand for the remaining amount. if your filing falls within the period for which relaxation was granted, the extra late fees might be disputed.
