26 March 2009 Salary provision make on 31.03.2009. Please confirm that what will be the last date for deposit of TDS? It is 07.04.2009 or 31.05.2009?

26 March 2009 In the book i found that in the case of salary TDS have to deposit on or before 07.04.2009 and in other case it is 31.05.2009.
Please clear again with section :
without interest 31.03.2009?
with interest due date of filing of return?

TDS ON SALARY IS TO BE DEPOSITED TILL 07TH APRIL 2009.
IN CASE OF DEFAULT, TDS CAN BE DEPOSITED BEFORE FILING OF RETURN WITH INTEREST.

26 March 2009 Mr. Ravi your understanding is partially correct. Pl refer rule 30(1)(b)(2) of The Income tax Rules,1962 for the cut off date for the remittance of TDS. To explain the situation,here provision for salary is made on 31/3/2009. Probably that salary will be paid in April 2009. If it is so, deduction is made in April 2009. So cut off date to remit TDS will fall on 7th May 2009.

26 March 2009 I FEEL THAT THE VIEW OF MR WARRIER IS CORRECT BECAUSE IN THE CASE OF SALARY TAX IS TO BE DEDUCTED AT THE TIME OF PAYMENT. SO MARCH SALARY WILL BE PAID IN APRIL. TDS TO BE REMITTED ON OR BEFORE 7TH OF MAY. HOWEVER IF TDS RELATED TO OTHER PAYMENTS IF PROVISION MADE ON LAST DAY OF MARCH THE SAME SHALL BE REMITTED ONLY ON OR BEFORE 31ST MAY

19 November 2011 Incase Provision for salary and TDS made as on 31/3/2011 but payment of salary on 30/09/2011 what will be the due date for remittance of TDS?
