What are the maximum working hours that a company can have? I mean are there any restrictions on the number of hours as per Shops and Establishments Act? Are these applicable to all companies, whether manufacturing or service?

An employee in a shop or commercial establishment cannot be required or allowed to work for more than 9 hours in a day and 48 hours in a week. {Section 14}
He must be allowed an interval of rest of at least one hour after five hours of continuous work {Section 15}
for manufacturing factory act applicable.
