22 December 2008 Packing material is Direct Expenses or Indirect Expenses??? How???

22 December 2008 it is direct exp becz it is incidental to manufacturing exp

22 December 2008 Hi Prashat & Jitender,

It may be direct/indirect both depending on the case. For eg: toothpaste- tube & the box in which tube is packed are packing material as direct exp. The boxes are again packed in cartons for transportation or storage, this is indirect exp. U have the look at the case & then decide.

22 December 2008 Agreed with view of Pooja
