sir,
one of my friend run a partnership firm of transportation and doing the contract work of government section (PCF). so i have to know can he file a return himself or certified C.A compulsory for that? if he can do himself what form he will use

depends on the turnover...if the turnover is less than Rs 1 cr and profit is in excess of 8% of the turnover, then no audit is required. in this case, if the total exempt income is less than Rs 5000, then use ITR4S. other wise use ITR4.
if the turnover exceeds Rs 1 cr or is less than 1 cr but profit is less than 8%, then audit is necessary to be done by a CA. Use ITR4 in this case
