ITR for A.Y. 2022-23 was filed under new regime but Form 10IE was not submitted

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
An individual filed their Income Tax Return (ITR) for A.Y. 2022-23 under the new tax regime but failed to submit the mandatory Form 10IE. Consequently, the Income Tax Department has raised a demand. The user is seeking options to submit the form retrospectively or explore alternatives. Unfortunately, current advice suggests there's no option to submit Form 10IE now, and revising the ITR to the old regime is also not permitted.

18 June 2023 I filed my ITR [having business income] for A.Y. 2022-23 under new regime but forgot to submit the form 10IE. Income tax department later raised a demand.

Do I have an option to submit the form 10IE now or any other option that anyone can suggest?

18 June 2023 No option now you have to pay the demand.

19 June 2023 Can I revise my ITR and submit that under old regime?
Under old regime as well, I am not liable to pay tax. Does that help me in zero demand?

19 June 2023 You can't revise ITR now.
