Itr 4 for ay 2009-2010 filed in wrong pan no.

11 February 2012 I had filled ITR 4{U/s 139(4)} for AY 2009-2010 in wrong PAN no., filing date is 18-05-2010,
What shuold i do now, if i want to file a return for the AY 2010-2011 and 2011-2012,

11 February 2012 You know that quoting a wrong PAN attracts penalty, but if your intentions were not mala fide, no penalty is levied.

You should not file the subsequent return on the same PAN. You can file the returns by quoting correct PAN. No problem.

11 February 2012 Thank u very much sir,

but wht about my return for ay 2009-2010, as i filed tht in wrong PAN no. and it is equivalent to return not filed, m i right? should i file it again, if yes then how, if no then, whether any problem for my in future?

12 February 2012 There are two problems now.
1. AY2009-10, the last date for fling a return was 31st March 2011. You therefore will not be able file a return electronically for the assessment year. You might want to contact the AO for a possible solution if any.
2. AY20010-11, the last date for filing a return is 31st March 2012. You better file your return ASAP and get it processed.
3. AY2011-12 - you have time till 31st March 2013 to file a belated return. You might want to file it as soon as your AY2010-11 return is processed.
BTW, the PAN on which you had filed a wrong return also will need corrections. Pls contact your AO for that.
