i am working in chennai from past 15 months.my parmanent place is Ajmer in rajasthan.i do not want to chande my PAN Data and wish to file e return from my Ajmer Address.

is it mandatory to got deptt. Stamp on E Return?
if yes what is Time Limit to get Stamp.
since i m in Chennai can i send my ITR by post to Ajmer Commissionerate or Alternatively got stamp from Chennai Commissionerate.

28 May 2009 You can file the return at one of the below places,

a. Place where your permanent address is, OR
b. place of office where you work.

As you want file your return in Ajmer, you can there is no restrictions on that.

Yes you need to submit the copy of e-return to income tax depart with 15 days from the date of e-file. Chennai commissionerate office may not accept your e-return. You need to submit this to Ajmer office.

28 May 2009 If your are filing the return electronically without using digital signature, then ITR V may be furnished with in 30 days of e-filing to Income tax department,CPC,Post box no.1,Electronic city p.o, Banglore-560100. For full details see CBDT circular no 3 dated 21/05/2009 in www.incometaxindia.gov.in
