Itc availed but no gst number on invoice

for the fy 2017-18 one of the client avialed the ITC without GST number on invoice but this thing come to know when we are doing GST AUDIT .so plz what are the consequence, remedies.plz suggest.

It is necessary to get our GSTIN printed on the invoice and also the same invoice is uploaded in GST portal, and filed the return to avail the credit.
