31 March 2010 Dear Sir,

Manufacturer registered in Maharashtra State under central CST Act. Purchases goods from outside state. Supplier located at Gujarat dispatched goods as on 28th of December. These goods received at manufactuer's premises in 2nd Jan.

Now query:
a. Whether the c form is to be issued in Qtr "Oct to Dec" or "Jan to March".?
b. Does the entry in purchase ledger required or not necessary?

31 March 2010 The property in the goods passes only as per the terms of its sale (Ref Sale of Goods Act 1930).If the goods becomes your property on receipt of goods ie 02-01-2010 then the sale falls in Jan-Mar quarter; if the property on the goods passes on delevery of the goods to the transporter then the sale takes place in Dec '09 ie Oct-Dec quarter.
