08 October 2011 I AM WORKING A PVT COMPANY.
WE HAVE REPAIR & MAINTENANCE INCOME FROM HEAVY VEHICLE REPAIR BOTH FREE AND PAID SERVICE.
IS SERVICE TAX IS APPLICABLE ABOVE INCOME.
TOTAL INCOME FROM REPAIR & MAINTENANCE IS NEAR ABOUT 5,00,000/- YEARLY.

08 October 2011 As your services are below rs 1000000/-, u need not register for service tax.

08 October 2011 The aggregate value of services rendered should be greater than Rs. 1000000. However you have mentioned income and not aggregate value of services , if aggregate value of service is less than 10 lakh , then you do not need to register
