10 February 2012 Thanks . Could you please also advise that do one should have a registered leave & license agreement to claim HRA exception or only Rent receipt will do.

11 February 2012 pune is not a metro city to be under the purview of section 10 (13A) of the income tax act 1961 and rules relating thereto. only four cities new delhi, mumbai, kolkata and chennai are metros.

11 February 2012 AS per the new circular where rent paid in > 180000 the PAN no. is essential if not a declaration form is necessary.. also .. it is always advised to have a rental agreement in place..
