i want to ask that which author's book should be preferred for both direct and indirect tax other than study material for may 15 attempt

You may Opt for Vikash Mundhra's book of Lawpoint Publication. It covers both direct and indirect tax. A very good exam oriented book.

it is better you go for either girish ahuja or manoharan with icai study material including book for ammendments and practice manual.
