i wanted to ask whether failing to apply for exams of ipcc is counted in overall attempts to pass that group or overall passing the ca exams. for e.g. i registered myself for ipcc in july 2012 for may 2013 exam and am not able to give the exam due to some reasons and i give the exam in november 2013, so will it be counted as a drop in the attempt?

Yes, each attempt for which you are eligible to give your exams will count as attempt of you even though you appeared or not. However if you are asking about job purpose then you can explain at the time of your interview you live attempt due to your reasons.
However one more thing on Pass certificate there is no indication for attempt pass. So it may not be issue to your cariear.
