Invalid return

04 May 2015 Hello Sir,

I have filed a ITR1 on dated 23/08/2013 for AY 2012-13 but on 26/03/2015 I got a notice from department that my return has become invalid return.

please advice me for further action should I take.

05 May 2015 kuldeep,

you need to check the reasons for invalidation of return and accordingly refile the return in response to section 139(9) notice within 15 days of receipt of the same.

in case you are unable to do it on your own, use assistance of a Chartered Accountant.

Thanks for your early reply.
reason for invalidation is
Error Code 38 - tax deteremined as payable in the return filled by you has not been paid.

but on verification 26AS the same atx is shown.

please advice further.

05 May 2015 kindly refile the return in response to the notice with the same data. ensure tax credit info is furnished correctly in the return
