23 December 2011 DEAR FRIENDS,
I HAVE RECEIVED INTIMATION BY TDS DEPTT U\S 200A FOR FY 2009-2010.THEY HAVE CHARGED INTEREST ON TIMELY DEPOSIT OF TAX.WHATEVER TDS HAS BEEN DEDUCTED BY US U\S 194C,194J AND192C HAS DEPOSIED ON 7TH DAY NEXT MONTH.
WHILE GOING THROUGH DEFAULT DETAILS I CAME TO KNOW THAT THEY HAVE CHARGED INTT ON TIMELY DEPOSIT OF TDS.
THEIR CHART SAYS AS FOLLOWS-

Date of payment 31.01.2010, Date of Deduction 31.01.2010,Date of Deposit
06.02.2010,Due date 01.02.2010,Months of Default 01,Late Payment Interest Amount
100.00

IN SUCH CASE WHAT ACTION SHOULD WE TAKE.

WAITING FOR PROMPT RESPONSE FROM FELLOW MEMBERS.

24 December 2011 Dear Mr. Sunil,

If Only Rs. 100, then you can ignore as, Income Tax Deptt generally dont charge amount equal to Rs. 100.

However to be on safer side,
Just physically deposit a letter to ITO TDS, Stating all Facts,
Take Receipt Stampt from ITO TDS with date on copy of same letter and place in in clients file.

you are safe.
