Intimation u/s 143(1) for demand

21 June 2013 HI, I am salaried person so my income tax is deducted at source. As per the 26AS Tan of my deductor is SRTG02240A ( Dean GMERS Medical college valsad ) . But in Form 16 I received from the college have different TAN number mentioned ( Tan No - SRTc01062F ) This TAn number is of CHIEF DISTRICT MEDICAL OFFICER CUM CIVIL SURGEON GENERAL HOSPITAL

26AS shows the amount of TDS correctly with status of booking as "F"

Also "total income tax liability" is same in "As Provided by Taxpayer in Return of
Income" and " As Computed Under Section 143(1)"

What should I do now? what online procedure I can do here, as I can't meet the Ao in person due to the distance.

21 June 2013 You need to check with deductor with the form 26AS and form 16 and ask for the difference in TAN number and correct accordingly

22 June 2013 Thank you, but how to correct ? what is the procedure once I know the right TAN number of deductor. Do I need to e-fill the ITR again with corrected TAN?

22 June 2013 you no need to correct. deductor need to correct the TDS return in case they made mistake in TDS returns

Incase form 16 they issued wrong TAN, ask them to give correct TAN.
