Whether an internal auditor can also take up the payroll assignment for the same client?

An internal auditor is appointed by mgmt., so if they are ok with it then no problem.

should not be an issue as internal auditor is supposed to help management manage complainces better...so if the payroll assignment is taken up, it can only add to better compliances.
However, it should be ensured that where any conflict of interest arises, the internal auditor acts in a professional manner and ensure that his integrity is not compromised.
