Interest on waiver

a assessee has filed the return manually before the due date. as per the request of income tax assessee has filed that return through e-filing after the due.
now the assessee got the notice from income tax, pay interest u/s 234a &234b for sum amount.
Is there any possibility to get waiver for the interest, under any section?
pls give me some sugesstion

in such case no int is applicable as original return was filed manually b4 due date
