Interest on Housing Loan

I have taken loan from an NRI friend and closed my Housing Loan with a Bank. Can I get exemption/relief for Interest payment & repayment of principal paid to NRI friend

yes, u can claim exemption provided u have the evidences to prove it, if demanded.

you can claim interest on housing loan. There are no such restriction that loan should be taken from financial institution only for sec 24
