21 July 2011 Sir,
i have filed vat (karnataka) returns on 19.07.2011 and put the same date in cheque also. but i failed to submit the cheque on 20.07.2011. but today (21.07.2011)when i went to submit the cheque, the officer asking me to pay both 10% interest & 1.25% interst.
earlier many times i hv filed on 20th and submitted cheque on 21st. bt nw they are asking interest.
pls suggest wt to do

21 July 2011 You need not pay interest on 21st. If you fail to pay it today, then you need to pay the interest.

21 July 2011 try to pay in some another bank. Or if you have an online account, then pay it through that.

21 July 2011 No sir, i dnt hv online a/c and now its almost 5 p.m. all banks r close. wt to do

21 July 2011 Pay online. Go to your banker and ask them to provide you internet banking facility and you can pay online.

21 July 2011 Mr. Agarwal - He has to pay it today. Net Banking facility cant be activated in a single day if not already activated.

21 July 2011 Sir, pls anyone suggest me. can officer ask 10% interest if we paid cheque on 21st ? because the tax is almost Rs.4 Laks. someone told me to send by post/courier tdy itself. what if we send by courier ?
