Individual covered under tax audit u/s 44AB of Income tax act, not mandatory to file their IT returns online.

it is mandatory for a company and a firm liable to audit under section 44AB of the Act to furnish the return electronically. However, electronic filing is optional for other categories of tax-payers.

From A.Y 2008-09, it is mandatory for "all" (Including Individuals) those liable for Tax audit u/s 44AB to file return of income electronically with or without digital signature.
