AN INDIVIDUALS WHO IS COVERED U/S 44AB IS MANDATORY FOR FILING OF IT RETURN THROUGH E-FILING, PLEASE TELL IF IT IS MANDATORY PLEASE TELL ANY CIRCULAR WAS RELEASED ON THIS CASE.

11 June 2009 it is mandatory for a company and a firm liable to audit under section 44AB of the Act to furnish the return electronically. However, electronic filing is optional for other categories of tax-payers.

11 June 2009 From A.Y 2008-09, it is mandatory for "all" (Including Individuals) those liable for Tax audit u/s 44AB to file return of income electronically with or without digital signature.

Relevant Section is 139(1) clause no 3.
