My client is a service provider as individual and now want to incorporate proprietorship firm in Mumbai.

Apply for Shops and Establishment liscence. This will also enable you to open bank account.

My client providing service from home. is VAT or Service tax Registration compulsory?

If the turnover limit is exceeding the VAT limit applicable for you State, then registration is must, even if it is operated from HOME.
