My Brother live in india last year less than 180 days, he liable for filling of tax return or not ? his income taxable or not please confirm me & oblige.

To know the complete residential status for Tax Laws, please give the details of his stay in India for last ten years. Based on the residential status we can determine whether he needs to file the return.

Please confirm if your brother has gone to Singapore on employment. If yes, he is a non-resident for the last year and accordingly the Income outside India is not taxable. However please check if he received income in India from April to August 2010 and if such income exceeds Rs.1.6 Lakhs for the period, he has to file the return for this income.

He is gone for employment. his company change his location from india . & his previs year income is more than 1.6 lakh & company deducted tds in this amount can tds refund or not.

As the Income is more than 1.6 Lakhs, he should file the return and claim refund for TDS over and above the taxable amount.
Since he becomes Non-resident for last FY, rules for NRI shall apply.
