12 January 2015 My son has achieved a scholarship of Rs. 1 lacs by Max igenious through his performance after coming 2nd .The cheque is received in my name and so is deposited in my bank.I also recd. TDS certificate in my name in respect and on behalf of him. There are documents stating that scholarship is of my son. I want to know whether the income is clubbed in my name and additional tax payable by me as due to my tax slab change, or return is filed in my son's name. The same question is asked one of the person earlier in your expert coloumn. Please guide me properly.

13 January 2015 This scholarship is his personal achievement can't be clubbed with your income. If this is the only income of your son no need to file return of son. File return and claim refund of TDS in your name.
