25 November 2010 Can we file Income tax return for the year 2007-08 before 31.12.2010 of a salaried employee?

25 November 2010 Since the time is over for on time return as well as belated return, so cannot file now

26 November 2010 For filing Belated return, the cut off date is 1 year from the relevant assessment year. The relevant Assessment Year in your case is 2008-09. So the last date for filing belated return is 31/3/2010. So it is not possible to file belated return. However Income tax department will send an intimation on filing the return for the relevant year. On receiving the intimation act accordingly.
