Income tax refund process

30 September 2014 I have filed my income tax return well within due date. While filing income tax return it was revealed that there would be refund from the department.

I already got acknowledgement of receipt of my tax return from bengaluru office through e-mail and sms.

However no information about refund.

Do I need to tender my claim for refund to department or I would get my refund directly in my account ( As it was mentioned in return.)

I have heard that department generally makes direct credit to the taxpayers. This is my first refund case so far.

Kindly share your expert views and guide.

30 September 2014 what you have received is mere acknowledgment of receipt of your return. it will be processed and only after that refund will be issued.

I know it is an acknowledgement. However your reply does not clarify if I need to file / tender a refund form to department to claim refund or department will process / assess my return and intimate me?
