It depends upon the fact, whether you term, your share activities as an Investment Activity resulting in Capital Gains or as a Business Activity resulting in Business Profits. This can be ascertained mainly by the volume, frequency, source of investment and period of holding of shares.

It is advisable to compute capital gains, in case the transactions are not so frequent.
