For last couple of years I am filling ITR 4 as there used to be income from Salary as well as from Profession. But this year I earned income only by Salary.
My question is that can I file ITR 1 this year?. My friend said that there could be problem while getting refund as refund amount is more than Rs.51000. Will there be any problem if I file ITR-1?

No there will not be any problem. It is not necessary to file return ib same ITR every year. A different ITR can be selected based on source if Income and fulfillment if requisite criteria.
