Click on the Forgot Password option, secret question answers will be asked, After verification password will be given in the email id, if still you cannot get it call the helpline no they will surely help u out

No this is not the procedure for Income Tax. Generally the procedure as suggested by Vinita related to various sites and not the income tax department.
For income tax department you have to go to the incometaxindiaefiling site and there you have feed in your PAn number and after that you have to go to forget password which will indicate 2 things 1) question 2) your last IT return filed acknowledgment number with assessment year and then you have to generate a new password which you have to make a note of it. Once your new pass word is generated you will receive a confirmation for changing your pass word but the pass word will not be sent to you.
In this manner you can getr your new pass word
