my relative is depositing a fund in esi deposit schemeand they are paying 12% int.he wants to deposit more and he is retired govt staff from esi. He is 78 yrs.whether he has to file return.whether he had to give 15g to esi ?

Being senior citizen he can submit 15H provided his taxable income is less than the basic exemption limit. He has to file return if he has taxable income.

Any interest received from Govt., exempted on income, I am not sure kindly.
