there are various income earned from stock market which income u talking abt

trading income and derivative income is charged as business income.
Income from short term and long term profits on share sale is charged as capital gains. Long term capital gains are exempt from any tax if STT is charged thereon.

YES INCOME IS TAXABLE IT DEPEND ON THE TRANSACTION IT MAY TAXABLE UNDER BUISNESS INCOME OR UNDER CAPITAL GAIN TAX .
