04 August 2017 Mother earns an Rent Income from Son, wherein both stay in same house.
So, question is : An Income to Mother is from Self Occupied House or Let Out House ?

04 August 2017 What is the nature....? in my view., If one house one portion SOP... If one building two portions then SOP and LOP.....!

04 August 2017 Rent Income to Mother for house owned by her.
Same house, no partition to let out portion of House.
As per your advise, with above condition, it can be considered as SOP

With proper documents, all amount paid in Chq. with Rent Receipt signed and filed.

04 August 2017 But considering the things, ITR 2 does not allows to insert Tenants details, when added HP as SOP

04 August 2017 If one house property then we can use ITR 1... If two house property then we can use ITR 2. Then ITR 2 want tenant details.....

04 August 2017 Yes! only one HP.
Also the Client also has MF exempt income. So, ITR 2 is to filed.
But with SOP it does not allows, given the above condition. So, in that case it is to be taken as LOP ? even if the Owners stays in same house ?
