13 October 2008 I want to File income tax return for the Financial Year 2004-2005 (AY 2005-2006). Can I file it now?

I have a refund of Rs.15,000/- for the said period. If the return can not be filed for the above period due to delay, what happens to the refund? whether one has lost the right to claim the refund?

13 October 2008 You cannot file the returns now.
As you cannot file these returns now , you cannot claim the refunds also.

13 October 2008 Yes the return can only be filed upto one year from the end of relevant ay u/s 139(4)

13 October 2008 you cannot claim a refund on a belated return.

further you cannot file the return for AY 2005-06 now
