i want to know meaning of FBT

FBT stands for fringe benefit tax.it is charged on the expenses incurred by the employer in providing fringe benefit to the employees.There are 17 head or types of expenditure on the incurrence of which it is charged like accommodation,use of telephone,staff welfare,motor car etc.FBT is charged under income tax act 1961
