14 May 2011 Hi ,

Need a help on understanding the procedures for importing products from China. Are there any registrations to be done with any Government departments?

Also we are looking at importing initially USB Sticks , Anti Slip Mats (one that is kept on car dashboards to prevent things from slipping) and solar chargers for charging mobiles and also Chinese mobile phones . Can an expert help me out with the Import Duty rate , the Customs Duty , Countervailing duty or other charges applicable on the above articles.

The first and foremost registration which you should start with is Import Export Code to be obtained from the Director General of Foreign Trade.

Many thanks for helping us on the same. Also can you help me out with the other taxes percentage as this will help us pricing the same.

The three products are 1) USB sticks 2) Solar Chargers for mobile handsets 3) Anti slip mats and 4) Chineese handphones.
