My friend's friend has not filed his I.T Return for the last 4 years . Although he has no tax payable for the past years as his whole income is from salary and is subject to T.D.S . Can he file the Returb for the past 4 years ?

He can file last 2 year only, but if the income is not taxable limit no need to file the return

He cant file for 4 years, he can file for 2 years 2008-09 and 2009-10 he can file..

yes agree,
IT dept.has accepted only 2 previous years return and for third year return he need to pay rs.5000/- even he has non taxable income. if he has non taxable income, he don't need to file without any compalsation.
