If your total income, including salary, is below Rs 2,50,000, you've received a Rs 20 lakh advance for land sale, which you've placed in an FD. You need to declare the interest earned on this FD under 'income from other sources' in your Income Tax Return (ITR). However, if the sale agreement isn't registered, you generally don't need to declare the advance amount itself.
