01 May 2013 Hi All,

1. Can a Foreign Citizen create an HUF?

2. If yes, Can a foreign Citizen not reisiding in India can create a HUF?

3. if yes then, can such HUF can claim Income tax benefit ordinarily available to HUF's?

01 May 2013 Hindu undivided family (abbreviation: HUF) is consist of all persons lineally descended from a common ancestor and include their wives and unmarried daughters. A daughter cease to be a member of her father's family on marriage, and become a member of her husband's family.

02 May 2013 Say, I am a person of Indian origin, but I am settled outside india and I am citizen of that country.. However I maintain a personal file in India uptill now..

Now I want to create an HUF .. obviously to avail tax benifit.. can I do so?
