29 January 2013 Dear sir
i have left the job in feb, company deducted tax without giving effect of HRA Exemption u/s 10 now I can claim the TDS after deducted HRA , In that case My salary income differ from form 16 what I can do to claim TDS

29 January 2013 You can claim HRA exemption-if HRA has been shown in Form 16 as a taxable allowance.

Show Salary +HRA as per Form 16 and then claim exemption on the basis of criteria provided under the act. You should keep the rent receipts for producing the same , when asked by the department.

30 January 2013 Thanks but in ITR 1 no column for deducting HRA only salary income will be filled how the same will be deducted

30 January 2013 You may either-

1. File ITR-1 by showing the adjusted salary income in the return.
2. If you want to show the details, Prefer
ITR-2.
