DEAR SIR,
I AM WORKING IN PRIVATE LIMITED COMPANY AND I AM STAYING IN CENTRAL MUMBAI PAYING RENT OF RS.8000 PER MONTH . SO CAN I CLAIM HRA EXEMPTION BUT THE ISSUE IS THE LEAVE AND LICENCE AGREEMENT IS BETWEN MY WIFE AN THE LAND LORD AND I AM PAYING THE RENT FROM MY ACCOUNT AND THE LANDLORD GIVES THE RECEIPT IN MAY NAME.
SO PLEASE ADVICE ME.

Rent Receipts are certainly proof of rent paid by you. You may produce the receipts and
your bank a/c in case required. You are eligible to claim HRA.
