Dear Seniors
Is Special allowance and dearness allowance same and one thing?? When we calculate rebate on HRA, we consider salary as (Basic+DA). If we dont have DA in salary and instead have SPL ALLOWANCE. In that case should we take salary as (Basic+Spl allowance). Please do reply...Its really important for me.

no...special allowance cannot be added in lieu of DA>

For computation of HRA we take Basic + DA {forming part of retirement benefits} + Bonus + Commission on turnover...
