24 January 2019 Is rent agreement is mandatory for hra exemption.
I found reference on site :

But I want to check if it still holds true ?
Do we need to submit Rental Agreement mandatorily for claiming HRA ?

24 January 2019 Rental agreement is not mandatory if you give rental receipts is more than sufficient to claim HRA benefits and owner PAN number if it is more than 8000/- PM

24 January 2019 Yes , it is what my impression is. But my HR is asking specifically for registered rental agreement. I have notarized agreement and he is not accepting it.
How to convince him about the true rules ?
