How to revise the rejected return due to itr v late submitte

22 December 2011 I have filled the ITR for AY 2011-12 electronically without digital signature. I send the ITR V within 120 days of filing of return to CPC, Bangalore but it was not received by CPC, Bangalore. Now if the ITR V is not received within 120 days from the date of filing of ITR, the ITR is treated as it is never been filed. My question is: 1. What is the procedure for filing a new ITR
2. Whether new ITR would be treated as revised return or belated return
3. Whether applicability of Interest u/s 234A arises in case at the time of filing of original return, it was not arised
4. What would be the remedy, if it is due to the default of postal department

22 December 2011 The easiest way out is to shift the onus on Postal Department.
.
Interest U/s 234A will be leviable and the return can be filed as original return.
.
In case it is not accepted by IT site , by
messaging like " The return can not be accepted as Return has already been filed"
then file the return by mentioning it a revised return.

22 December 2011 In this case original return is to be filed since return which you already filed stands rejected due to non submission of ITR V.
