07 September 2013 MY PAN NUMBER IS ALREADY REGISTERED SOME ONE.BUT I DONT HAVE USERNAME AND PASSWARD &LAST YEAR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT COPIES ALSO.HOW TO RESET PASSWARD.

07 September 2013 If you forget your password for e-filing of your income tax returns in the website https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ you can now adopt any of the following methods for resetting your password.
1.Answer your secret question .
By selecting this option you have to answer the secret question which is provided at the time of original registration.After giving the exact answer as given at the time of registration you will be proceeded to the window for providing your new password.
2. If you have filed e-returns for last year , you can reset your password by giving the acknowledgement number of last year's income tax return. Here you have to give the last six digits of your bank account number also which you have provided in last year return.
3. If the above methods doesn't work , you can reset password by third option. In this case you have to give your following details exactly as provided to the pan database.

a. PAN number
b. Your first , middle and last name
c. Date of birth/ incorporation.
d. Father's first , middle and last name
By providing these, the password details will be sent to your registered e-mail address.

4. If you are unable to reset the password by any of the above methods, you can contact incometax authorities by sending a mail to validate@incometaxindia.gov.in including all your details like PAN, Name , Date of birth , REg. email id etc.
