How to get audit experience being in tax dept

Currently i am doing my articleship with a firm which has been divided into Tax and Audit departments.I am working in Tax dept.

I am worried that after qualifying i will not have any experience in Audit field. Is there some way so that i can get to know what exactly is the procedure of closure of books,statutory audit ? Difficulties faced ? Possible solution of such difficulties etc...

23 May 2012 As far as getting the knowledge about the procedures for closure of books and statutory audit etc are concerned you can get this knowledge from reading various books and articles available in the market but you will never be able to know the difficulties faced in case you do not work in that field yourself. To have this knowledge you will have to come accross the dificulties yourself and rest you can get to know from the experiences of the seniors.
