22 February 2016 dear sir... i am new visitor of cci. i have a query regarding to become vat or sales tax practitioner. i post graduate in commerce(m.com) with distinction marks. also a studemt of ipcc direct entry scheme. i am working under c.a since last 7 years. amd now i want to become a vat / sales tax practitioner. so am i aligible for that or i have to pass any specific exam for that

22 February 2016 Hi Nikhil,
You can obtain Sales Tax Practioner certificate after which you can practice as an STP.
For this you have to apply with the Commissioner of the Sales Tax Deptt of your state. Pl.
check with the sales tax/vat deptt of your state for details and application procedure.
