House rent receipt from landlord

Employees submitted HOUSE RENT RECEIPT FOR THE YEAR OF RS 72000/- FROM A LAND LORD AT THE RATE RS 6000/-PER MONTH.

WHETHER IT IS COMPULSORY AS PER INCOME TAX RULE THAT PAN NUMBER IS REQUIRED TO BE MENTIONED IN THE LAND LORD'S RECEIPT OF HOUSE RENT PAID BY EMPLOYEE.

IS IT ACCEPTABLE WITHOUT PAN NUMBER OF HOUSE RENT RECEIPT SUBMITTED BY EMPLOYEES.

WHETHER EMPLOYER WILL ASK EACH EMPLOYER TO SUBMITTED A PROPER RENT RECEIPT FROM LAND LORD HAVING PAN NUMBER.

Since annual rent is below Rs. 1 lac no PAN no. of landlord required.

In other cases it is not mandatory.

03 January 2014 Circular no.8/2013.F.No.275/192/2013-IT(B)dated 10.10.2013 says an employee who is claiming HRA and if annual rent paid by the employee exceeds 100000per annum, it is mandatory for employee to report PAN of owner to employer.

in your case you have not exceeded 1 lakh so no need to provide any PAN to employer,,you can provide a simple rent receipt with out PAN of owner also acceptable
