12 April 2013 At H1 (on challan service page) of ST 3, we are supposed to mention the month, challan number & CHALLAN AMOUNT.

At H2, we are supposed to pick the payment entry (say, interest) and again mention the month, challan number & challan date.

My question is - WHAT AMOUNT TO ENTER IN THE 'AMOUNT' COLUMN OF H2..THE CHALLAN AMOUNT OR THE INTEREST AMOUNT??

15 April 2013 u should only interest amount coz challan details u hv already provided in above columns

15 April 2013 Thanx Vineetji, but in that case there might be two problems :

1. Firstly the challan details (CIN & DATE) won't match with challan amount and secondly,

2. The purpose of H2 is to IDENTIFY the source documents, i.e., identify the challan through which the payment of interest etc. has been made and the focus is not on the amount of interest since interest amount has already been mentioned in the 'paid service' page.

i hv seen the calculation SYSTEM of aces personally.
if ur total amount = tax laiblity as per aces then there ll be no issues.
juat ensure u hv deposited ur tax n intt accurately
