07 February 2011 a pvt. ltd. company uses service of transporter for transport of materials from one site to other site in same city.Is it liable for payment of service tax under GTA.

07 February 2011 if the transporter is an agent then you are liable to pay the service tax. If he is the owner of the vehcile then you need not to pay the same.
